Professional Treatment of Gingivitis and Periodontitis

For us, the preservation of your teeth is paramount. Therefore, one of our main focuses is the professional treatment of gingivitis and periodontitis. Gum diseases and diseases of the periodontium develop due to bacteria that organize themselves into a so-called biofilm. If bacterial plaque is not removed through home oral hygiene and professional dental cleaning, it hardens due to the accumulation of minerals and can no longer be removed by brushing alone. This leads to inflammation of the gums, which can progress to an inflammation of the entire tooth bed (periodontitis), where the connection between the tooth, gums, and bone is destroyed. This creates a periodontal pocket, which offers an ideal habitat for further bacterial colonization. In advanced periodontitis, the bone can even be damaged to such an extent that the tooth loosens.

Our periodontitis treatment concept begins with a comprehensive diagnosis through a meaningful, computer-assisted measurement of periodontal pockets and tissue loss, as well as a bacterial test to identify periodontitis pathogens.
Professional dental cleaning and, if necessary, special modern disinfection procedures remove hardened plaque and bacteria, even in periodontal pockets and below the gum line. This cleans and smooths tooth and root surfaces, allowing the gums to reattach. For the success of periodontitis treatment, your personal oral hygiene is the most important factor.
